ABOUT WE DARE TO CARE
We Dare To Care, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity dedicated to serving the local community of Osceola County, Florida and beyond. Founded in 2012 by local Law Enforcement Officers and business leaders, our grassroots organization operates on a volunteer basis, ensuring that 100% of funds raised are directly distributed back into our community.
Our journey began with the heartfelt mission to support one of our own, St. Cloud Police Sergeant Boyd Graham, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. To assist Sergeant Graham and his family, we initiated the Robo Mud Run, a fundraising event that garnered overwhelming support from our community. Witnessing the tremendous outpouring of compassion and support, we realized our potential to extend our aid beyond law enforcement beneficiaries, reaching out to local citizens facing financial hardship due to life threatening illnesses or injury. Through fundraising events combined with contributions from individuals, businesses, and companies; We Dare To Care provides up-front financial support to families facing life threatening illnesses or injury. This financial support helps take a tragic moment in a person’s life and alleviate some of the financial burden a family faces while they cope with the aftermath of a diagnosis or tragedy.
Driven by our community's unwavering generosity, we expanded our endeavors to include initiatives such as the Jingle Bell Ball, an annual event ensuring children in need receive gifts during the holiday season. This cherished occasion, attended by nearly 1,000 community leaders and residents, symbolizes the spirit of giving as attendees contribute toys or gift cards valued at least thirty-five dollars ($35). From toys and bikes to playsets, books, and engaging activities; our offerings have not only enriched the lives of recipients but have also served as a cornerstone of community spirit. Our partnerships with local schools, churches and non-profit organizations have identified deserving families, and ensured our resources are directed where they’re needed most. The Jingle Bell Ball culminates in a memorable Christmas dinner where children delight in meeting Santa Claus and receiving presents.
Additionally, our fundraising efforts include annual Golf and Poker Tournaments, which have grown into highly successful events attended by the community at large. These endeavors, alongside the support of individuals, businesses, and companies, sustain our operations without overhead expenditures or salaries.
